CRAFTLAND ARTIST VIDEO! Tom Toupin! March 01, 2011 07:59

Craftland was fortunate to work with Bennington College film student, Nick Raffanello, over his Field Work Term recently. Nick created three short videos featuring Craftland artists in the process of making their work. We will post them over the course of the next three weeks.

First up - Tom Toupin, owner of White Electric Coffee, and creator of the amazing arrows and light-up letters available at Craftland!

"Not long ago carpentry was only a hobby for Tom Toupin. Today, Tom is receiving orders regularly for his handmade replica 1940's signs which he crafts in his home studio. Though they may appear made of metal, they are wood all the way through. As the above video explains, Tom made the first two letters for himself and his coffee shop, but when people started asking where they could be found, Tom saw an opportunity. The next thing he knew, his letters were on sale and on display at the Craftland store."
